Emotional disturbances are more common in children due to dependence nature and low understanding nature. The problems they face in the childhood, teenage, adolescence and also of different stresses develop a maladaptive behavior in them.

This is also due to less self understanding, improper development of the stable sense of identity and also because of the perceived threats they are more prone to psychological problems.

Thus many disorders occur in children like the

• Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that is characterized by excess motor activity and difficulty in sustaining attention. Thus they fail to respond to the task given to them and have lower intelligence level. This can be treated with medication and behavioral therapy

• Conduct disorder that is characterized by the violation of rights of other like being cruel to others, bullying, using weapons to cause injury and indulging in robbery etc.

Children also experience some specific disorders like enuresis, encopresis, sleep walking and Tic. These disorders are characterized by a single symptom.

• Enuresis is the discharge of urine involuntarily mainly during night times. This may be due to disturbed control of cerebrum on balder or may be due to neurological disorder. This is more common in children below 5yrs of age and also present in age 15 or above.

• Encopresis is a condition of inappropriate use of toilets for bowel moments.

• Sleepwalking as the name indicates this is symptom of waking during nights and walking all around. This is more common in girls tha boys.

• Tic disorder is a motor disorder that is characterized by repeated licking of lips, blinking the eye etc.
