Cell synthesizes proteins by a two-step process known as “transcription and translation.” The genetic code carried by the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is transcribed into mRNA (messenger RNA), which is then translated into polypeptide by the endoplasmic reticulum. The Golgi apparatus modifies and sorts the proteins into their destinations.
Cell synthesizes all the proteins necessary for the structural and functional activities. Also, the cell enables itself to interact with the neighbouring cells, thereby modify their behaviour.
The collaborative functioning of the cells regulate the functioning of tissues.
