Cerebellum is the part of brain, present below the occipital lobes (dorsally projected) of the cerebrum. Cerebellum looks like a cauliflower and it contains two hemispheres, which contains an outer grey matter and inner white matter. The major functions of cerebellum include,

1. Accurate coordination of muscular movement

2. Learning motor skills

3. It keeps the muscles in normal state of tension.

4. Maintenance of balance and equilibrium

The cerebellum compares the actual movements and intended movements. It identify and calculate the corrections required if any, and send the information to the cortex, which corrects the movement.
