The data in the next column are the number of individual suicide bombings attacks for each in a sample of 21 recent incidents involving an attack against the United States by the A1 Qaeda terrorist group. A counterterrorism expert claims that more than half of all A1 Qaeda attacks against the United States involve two or fewer suicide bombings. Is there evidence to support this claim? Exercise 2.30

Al Qaeda attacks on the United States. An article in Studies in Conflict&Terrorism (Vol. 29, 2006) conducted an empirical analysis of recent incidents involving suicide terrorist attacks. The data in the table that follows are the number of individual suicide bombings or attacks for each of 21 incidents involving an attack against the United States by the Al Qaeda terrorist group. (For example, the infamous September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda attack involved four separate attacks with hijacked airplanes: Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers, one battered into the Pentagon, and a fourth plane shattered in a field in Pennsylvania.) Summarize the data with a dot plot. Interpret the results.
