There are two major similarities between the Carbon and Nitrogen cycles. These are:
1. Both these are biogeochemical cycles. This means that nutrients circulate between the biological, geological and chemical components of the biosphere.
2. Both the cycles involve the process of nutrient recycling in which the nutrients are first absorbed by the plants, then enters the animals and finally returns back to the environment passing through decomposers.
