Measuring atmospheric pressure
You use a liquid manometer with water to measure the pressure inside a rubber bulb. Before you squeeze the bulb, the water is at the same level in both legs of the tube. After you squeeze the bulb, the water in the opposite leg rises 20 cm with respect to the leg connected to the bulb (Figure P10.49). What is the pressure in the bulb? What assumptions did you make? How will the answer change if the assumptions are not valid?
