ANSWER.

1. Information for safely administer lasix.

               * Administer lasix tablets on an empty stomach.

               * Drink lot of fluids to avoid dehydration related to lasix

                  unless your physician limited fluid intake.

               * Use pottasium rich diet to avoid hypokalemia related to lasix.

2. Medication classification and special considerations.

           * Lasix is a loop diuretic and is classified under high efficacy diuretics.

           * Special considerations

                      * Lasix can make changes in blood sugar level so diabetic patients

                        should check the blood sugar level regularly when using lasix.

                      * It can cause hypokalemia,hypovolemia,metabolic alkalosis so include

                         pottasium rich foods and plenty of water in diet.

                      * It can increase sensitivity of skin to sunlight so use suncreams or lotions

                         when outdoors.

                      * Inform doctor if side effects like vomiting,diarrhea,dizziness or allergic reaction

                         occur during treatment.

                      * Drug interaction are present when give lasix along with other drugs like cyclosporin

                         aspirin,cephalaxin etc so do not use other drugs along with lasix without the prescription

                         or order of a physician.

3. Common reason for lasix to be given.

                  * Treatment of edema due to heart,kidney and liver diseases etc.

                  * Used in management of acute renal failure.

                  * Used for management of acute pulmonary edema.

                 * Treatment of cerebral edema.

                 * Treatment of acute hypercalcemia and hyperkalemia.

                 * Management of hypertension.

4. Adverse reaction of lasix with other medication.

                * When using lasix and aspirin toghether in a patient with chronic heart failure

                   aspirin inhibit acute vasodilator effect of lasix.

                * Lasix increase chances of ototoxicity related with aminoglycosides when using

                  this two drugs toghether.

                * Lasix when give along with lithium it reduce the renal clearance of lithium which

                   leads to lithium toxicity.

                * If Lasix and ACE inhibitors use toghether which leads to severe hypotension and

                   impairment in kidney function.

5. Interaction of garlic supplements and lasix.

                  * Garlic supplement useful to reduce high blood pressure.

                  * But when using garlic supplements and lasix toghether result in
