ANSWER:

While entering to the big retail store like Walmart, Shoppers stop, Pantaloon etc. the thing really matter is there presentation or layout of the product which particularly attract the buyers. Good layout provide good visibility of the product to all age group targeted customer and always trigger customer mind to purchase the product.

Following are the Point and design which retailer should take care for layout is:

1. We have seen grid arrangement in supermarket, medical stores etc it gives us lots of exposure to products as the layout encourages customers to browse multiple products, good when products are varied. you can also predict traffic flow from this you can put promos where you know customers will see them.

2. Free flow layout in which there is not fixed place for a particular product its great for small spaces retail shop. it create more space between products. In this less likelihood customers will bump into another product but it can be confusing for customers.

3.Always use good floor plan it is useful for managing store flow and traffic like straight floor plan in which all should be managed in a straight line and easily traceable,Racetrack plan, freeflow plan, geometric plan etc

4.It is very necessary to be aware of the lead shoppers in these according to the researcher some customer can more right while entering to the store and some move clock wise so in this manner it is tough to come over in the conclusion that which side your customer will go first to search the product. For this we have to organise each and every product in a manner that customer should attract by the layout.

5.Always keep good quantity of product because by seeing other customer somehow another customer get attracted to buy that product it tend to increase the sale.

6. Keep proper space between each product so customer feel comfortable to touch and examine without any hassel.

7.Product should be arranged according to age wise segregation like for example in kids zone keep your shelf always recognisable by kids don't keep it in top shelf where they cannot reach easily.

8.Change your display pattern regularly by the good colour combination or by with new product etc.

9. Main thing is keep you product in which you can cross sell your product to the customers, but by keeping in mind that product is suitable with the particular layout for example keep Watches with shirt but not shoe polish or shop etc.

10.Always keep a eye in your activity and measure your achievement that how many customer we have converted positively by changing layout and then again change the layout or solve the mistakes.

For each and every store either it big retail store or small retail store layout play an important role for maximum selling of the product for these proper arrangement proper spacing proper visibility etc is necessary for selling their product because if layout of the product is not proper customer will get confused and may not visit again and get diverted by other near by store were they get good facility and proper recognisation.
