Pathology of Atrial fibrillation
* It is a type cardiac arrythmia in which upper chambers of heart(atria) unable to contract
in synchronise with lower chambers of heart(ventricles).
* Main reasons for Afib include congestive heart failure,sleep apnea,hypertension,obesity
coronary artery diseases and diabetic melitus.
* It result in slow blood flow through the blood vessels which transfer blood to all other
areas of the body.
* Slow blood flow predispose to clot formation and obstruct the flow of blood to different
anatomical parts of the body.
Associated body part affected
* If the blood clot which formed due to slow blood flow reach into the blood vessels of brain
it result in stroke.
* It affect blood flow through pulmonary circulation and leads to shortness of breath and
chest pain and pulmonary embolism.
* It affect venous return from the lower extrimities leads to deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
