Answer: Peptic Ulcer is a condition where the erosion of the mucosa of gastro intestine takes place which is mainly caused by mucosal injury due to Helicobacter pylori infection. Sometimes the use of excessive NSAID leads to the ulceration. Alcohol, smoking, COPD and corticosteroids use may elevate the peptic ulcer disease and causes no improvement in healing.

The continuous ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract, the stomach causes less intake of food and hence the absorption of the nutrient. It makes body weak and also causes weight loss and muscles fatigue. The patient is unable to take proper food. Stomach or duodenum are mainly affected.
