If someone wants Medicaid coverage and state assistance should a drug test be given first? What are your thoughts on this controversial topic? Currently Pennsylvania does not have a law in place for this. Since taxpayers would be paying for the drug testing and Medicaid do you think they should have a say in this? Or do you think it’s too much of an invasion of privacy? If someone does test positive should treatment be covered?

Yes, If someone wants Medicaid coverage and state assistance a drug test should be given first.

Every individual should go through a drug test so that the Health care provider would know about that individual i.e., How that individual would react to a particular drug as every individual is different. For instance the reaction of a drug would be different for a smoker and non-smoker, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Every country should protect its citizens. Youngsters should be taught about the ill effects of drug usage. The taxpayers do have a say in this as they are paying the taxes. Every individual should be responsible and not misuse the Medicaid coverage and state assistance by taking drugs that are not meant for them. Screening an individual for drug usage is not an invasion of privacy but to keep a check on an individual if they are misusing the Medicaid coverage and state assistance.

If an individual is caught as Positive during a Drug Test, he or she should be punished as they are not supposed to consume illegal drugs.

The Government can thus keep a check on the individual and see that the tax payers money is not being misused.
