Positive association:
When increase ( or decrease) in value of one variable tend increase ( or decrease) in value of other variable then we say there is positive association between these two variables.
It means both the variables change in same direction.
Ex. Height and weight of a person.
If height of a person increases then its weight also increases.
Negative association:
When increase (or decrease) in the value of one variable tend to decrease (or increase) in the value of other variable then we say that these two variables are negatively associated.
Here change in the variable occur in opposite directions.
Ex. Price and demand.
When price increases then demand automatically decreases and vice versa.
No association:
If change in one variable doesn't affect the other variable then we say there is no association between these two variables.
Ex. Beauty and intelligence.

Determine whether each of the following situations describes a positive association, a negative association, or no association 1.Higher concentrations of aragonite in seawater increase the number of days it takes for oyster larvae to grow from 120 to 150 ?μm. 2.The number of emails that a student sends during his or her classes is not predictive of his or her grade point average. 3.Lung cancer patients with higher cholesterol levels require lower doses of opioids to manage their pain. 4.Among...

Compare and contrast negative vs. positive feedback mechanisms. Provide a physiological example for each system
Please provide a real world example of positive externalities and an example of negative externalities. For either case, is the government trying to address it? If so, how? Also, is the market for nicotine products efficient? (consider the assumptions of perfect information and no externalities).
What are the major concepts involved in interactions among firms? Explain and provide an example of each. How does technology/internet contribute?

Describe the differences between the use of the binomial and Poisson distribution. Provide one example of how each can be used and explain why you selected the example.
Thank you
For each pair of variables, indicate what association you expect: positive, negative or none. Provide a sentence explaining your reasoning for each pair of variables. Extra credit will only be granted for solutlons that nclude an explanation a A person's heighc the person's weight b.
