In the book DRUGS AND SOCIETY written by Glen R Hanson , Peter J. Venturelli, Annette E. Fleckenstein it has shown the complete details of how drugs are affecting society, which harms persons life. On reviewing psychological and social theory, I think sociological theory explains best for drug use. Society plays a important part in human being life, as all of us are living together in a society with common values and interests. Drug abuse or Substance abuse is a serious health issue in public affecting individual life as well as community and social status. Millions of teenagers are addicted to drugs for a reason of entertainment and for getting temporary happiness. Sociological theory best explains the drug abuse effects on people, family and society.

Teenagers are more addicted to drug abuse than any age groups. The reason is that is the group which can convert good to bad or bad to good. Due to peer pressures they caught into the crime of drug abuse. Family pressures will be high at the time of drug abuse, as it bothers both community and personal lives also. Peers will easily attract for those bad habits by seeing of friends, neighbors, family members, parties pubs, force from friends, bad friendships with bad people, personal tensions, professional stress, and so on. Hence when compared to psychological theory sociological theory has a great impact of drug abuse on person. Some of the references for drug abuse are mentioned below :
