HPV Vaccine - Human papilloma virus vaccines are vaccines that prevent infection by certain types of Human papilloma viruses.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) – HPV is a sexually transmitted virus. HPV infects at least half of sexually active people at some point in their lives. The virus often clears from the body on its own. And if it persists, it can lead to cervical, anal, and throat cancers and to genital warts.

Few tactics that I would use are;

Conduct awareness campaigns on HPV: We can conduct awareness campaigns at college so that the adolescents are aware of the HPV virus and the disease condition. Knowledge on the problem would certainly help the youth understand the need to get vaccination done. As we all know that Prevention is better than cure we can educate the youth about how HPV virus is a sexually transmitted disease and there are many kinds of virus in HPV than can cause unknown disease and cancers. HPV can cause different types of cancers in different types of the body. Cervical cancer used to be the leading cause of death in US however due to awareness it has dropped significantly.

National Vaccination Month: In the month of August which is dedicated as National Vaccination Month, we can conduct seminars, campaigns and health related topic discussion on a Inter College Level so that all colleges from a particular count can have programmes that are educative and bring out awareness in the youth on different vaccines, the need for vaccinations, the dangerous viruses that are deadly killers.

Free HPV and other vaccine drives: With the help of the government we can conduct free HPV and other vaccine drives so that people can take the vaccines and also awareness posters can be made on why the HPV vaccines should be taken.

Marriage counselling: During Marriage counselling the need for HPV vaccination can be explained as this virus is sexually transmitted. Also the importance of safe-sex and contraception can be explained. Oral and Health Hygiene can also be explained so that couples do not contract any kinds of disease that would cause them danger.
