Most cancers are not caused by a virus. HPV is one of the few that do cause cancers. This has led to the development of an effective vaccine to cure cancers linked to HPV (cancers of the cervix, vagina, and anus). This vaccine is recommended for girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 12 and some states require it. In your groups discuss the following questions and remember to respect everyone's opinion.

a)Based on your opinion upto which the state you live in.This vaccine is mostly accepted and encouraged in united states.According to the centers for disease control and prevention,the human papiloma virus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the united states.There is no cure for HPV,only treatment for related health problems.so prevention is always a better solution.

b) BENEFITS

1)They are helpful in preventing the cancer causing infections and pre-cancers.

2)This works extremely well.The HPV infections are decreased by 86% in female teens aged 14-19 years and 71% women in their early 20's.

3)This vaccine protects aginst HPV infection for almost 10 years.

4)This vaccination may help to prevent the spread of genital warts in both sex.

5)Causes a decrease in sexually transmitted disease to a male from a vaccinted female.

c)CONCERNS

1)For some people ,this presents an ethical dilemma.

2)For some others,the vaccine is seen as a potential gateway to encouraging sexual contact at earlier ages and promoting higher risk sexual practices.

3)It causes local reactions at the site of immunization,ie pain and redness.

4)It causes to develop dizziness,nausea and headache.

5)Causes neurological illness.

1 and 2 are social concerns and 3,4 and 5 are concerns based on science.
