Answer #1

1. The relation between frequency (\nu) or wavelength (\lambda) and the energy (E) is given by

                                  E = h \nu = \frac{hc}{\lambda}

where h = 6.63 x 10-34 J.s is Planck's constant, and c = 3 x 108 m/s is speed of light.

Given, the released energy is 2.6 eV.

i.e.                   E = 2.6 eV = 2.6 x 1.602 x 10-19 = 4.165 x 10-19 J

So, the frequency of the released radiation is

                                \nu = \frac{4.165 \times 10^{-19}}{6.63 \times 10^{-34}} = 6.3 \times 10^{-16} \,\, Hz

2. GIven, the wavelength of the photon is 505 nm .

So, the energy of the photon is

                                 E = \frac{6.63 \times 10^{-19} \times 3 \times 10^{8}}{505 \times 10^{-9}} = 1.05 \times 10^{-3} \,\, J

    2. To graphically represent the value of t, based on your data, consider equation 8: V.(t) = Voerc Because RC = t, this is equivalent to Vi(t) = Voez. Taking the natural logarithm of both sides yields In(V.) = (-1)+ + In(Vo) (Recall that In(ex) = x and In(ab) = In(a) + In(b)). Observe that this has the form of a linear equation y = mx + b for which y = ln(Vc), x=t, the slope m= (-), and the...
