a. The patient should be provided in a comfortable position.

b.The patient is asked to rate his pain on a scale of 1 -10 and verbalized that his pain is at 9 on the scale.

b.Ask the patient about the origin of the pain whether radiating or not.

c. After pain assessment is completed the patient should be given Percocet 2 tabs orally. The plan is also to provide comfort and support to the patient. Empathize with the patient.  As the patient's pain tolerance is 1 and the current pain score is 9 patient should be reassured and given confidence that he would be taken care of.

d. The patient will be given Percocet 2 tabs orally. Two tabs will be administrated as the prescription for such severe pain (7-10 on pain scale ) is 2 tabs of Percocet. A proper recording is will be done after the administration of medication.

e.As again pain score is high at 7 indicating the requirement of further management. Two Percocets tabs will be administrated orally and recorded in charting.

f. One tab Percocet is administrated orally as pain score is now at 3. The patient is will be reassured and psychological support is will be given.
