Since the beginning of time, dietary practices have been incorporated into the religious of people around the world... now let us discuss the dietary practices which are followed by religion in India.

BHUDDISM: they are vegetarian but some of them include fish too.. they completely restrict meat and beef products. They routinely avoid food after noon hours.

CHRISTIANS : they consume both veg and non veg foods but they fast for 40 days during Easter season.. only one meal is consumed at that time.  

HINDU: they don't consume any foods that might slow down spiritual or physical growth. They avoid pork, fowl, ducks, snails, crabs, meat, and camels . They consider milk , yogurt and butter as pure food items and hence consume them in large amount..

ISLAM: Eating is a matter of faith for those who follow the dietary laws called halal. Pork, birds and pray are called Haram. Consuming tea , coffee, and alcohol are discouraged .. They fast 40 days every tenth month of the year. They come before sunrise and sunset... the dont consume anything even water during the day..

JUDAISM: their dietary law is kashrut, meaning proper or correct. Kosher refers to the methods of processing foods according to Jewish laws. Pan, plates , utensils are kept separately. They separate meat from the dietary products to decrease contamination. Blood is completely removed form the meat in the slaughter house itself. They avoid pig, rabbits , lobster , shrimp, and clams. They also avoid eating meat and dietary products together...

Now let us see how some of the dietary practices are problematic for children , elderly, and sick individuals..

As we can see that many religious practices are mainly based on fast. This is done by pregnant women , diabetic patients also... it eventually will affect the nutritional status.... we can also see that water is also not consumed during fast, which eventually results in dehydration, which may give rise to several problems including kidney stone.. as we all know that meat is the best source of protein , but few religion don't consume non veg which may result in malnutrition among children... as we grow up we tend to develop lactose intolerance, consuming only veg protein sources such as milk may not be possible for elderly... hence they lack in protein in their body...
