c)Obtain intravenous access using an 18 or 20 gauge peripheral angiocatheter.

d)Flush the IV line with a saline solution (0.9 % NaCl flush)

e)Infuse the IV fluids 0.9 NS at 50ml/hr.

f)Infuse the heparin drip per weight based protocol.

g)Administer the STAT dose of diltiazem slow IVP over 5 minutes.

h)Infuse the diltiazem at 10mg/hr.

2)Diltiazem,Heparin and NS are compatible with each other.Both medications can be administer in the same peripheral line with NS.
