Cambridge dictionary defines research as 'a detailed study of a subject, especially in order to discover (new) information or reach a (new) understanding'. This definition is self explanatory and tells us that the statement mentioned that 'Reasearch is much concerned with proper fact finding, analysis & evaluation' is not wrong, but is not a sufficient explanation about what reasearch is meant for. Research on different subjects can have different objectives, modus operandi and expected results. A research for a new medicine for a known illness can have an objective of finding the cure for the illness. A research about space and interplanetary objects can have a objective of getting a better understanding of these objects being researched and not of finding any specific fact because the researchers do not know what or how to take the reasearch further. This is where the definition of research makes more sense as it specifies that 'discover new information' because there is a difference between new information and fact depending on the subject we are on.
Thus the statement above is not wrong but not sufficient to explain what research is. The limitations of the explanation differs from kne subject to another.
