Answer #1

Ordered dose Narcan 0.01mg/kg subcut stat for respiratory depression.

0.01 mg is 100 mcg. 100mcg/kg

The weight of Neonate is 3,300gm(3.3kg).

The available strength of the drug is 0.4mg/ml. I.e 400mcg/ml

So the neonate requires 330mcg of Narcan per dose. 3.3kg x 100mcg = 330mcg

The available strength of the drug is 400mcg/ml.

330mcg + 400mcg/ml = 0.825ml(0.8ml)

Answer - The nurse will administer 0.8 ml to the neonate.
