Answer #1

(i) (20/10)m = Rate 2/rate 1 = 2

i.e. 2m = 21, i.e. m = 1

Hence, the order with respect to acetone (m) = 1

(ii) (5/2.5)n = Rate 3/rate 1 = 2

i.e. 2n = 21, i.e. n = 1

Hence, the order with respect to H+ (n) = 1

(iii) (0.05/0.025)o = Rate 1/rate 4 = 0.5 ~ 1

i.e. 2o = 20, i.e. 0 = 0

Hence, the order with respect to I2 (o) = 0
