The Plantwide overhead rate = Total estimated overhead cost / Estimated total machine hours

= $1,250,000 / 30,000 Machine hours

= $41.67 per Machine hour

Step-2, The Overhead cost assigned to JOB-1534

The Overhead cost assigned to JOB-1534 = The actual machine hours worked x Plantwide overhead rate

= 225 Machine hours x $41.67 per Machine hour

= $9,375

“Hence, the Overhead cost assigned to JOB-1534 will be $9,375”
