Answer #1

1. Balanced chemical reaction is :

Mg(s) + 2HCl (aq) ---> MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)

2. Moles of Mg:

Trail 1:

Mass of Mg = 0.060 g

Molar mass of Mg = 24.3 g/mol

Moles of Mg = mass/ Molar mass = 0.06 g/ (24.3 g/mol) = 2.47 *10-3 mol

Trail 2:

Mass of Mg = 0.05 g

Molar mass of Mg = 24.3 g/mol

Moles of Mg = mass/ Molar mass = 0.05 g/ (24.3 g/mol) = 2.06 *10-3 mol

Trail 3:

Mass of Mg = 0.08 g

Molar mass of Mg = 24.3 g/mol

Moles of Mg = mass/ Molar mass = 0.08 g/ (24.3 g/mol) = 3.29 *10-3 mol
