Question

Consider the pendulum bob shown. The bob is constructed from a flat disk of mass 2.50
kg and diameter 20.0 cm which is connected to a rod of length 30.0 cm and mass of 2.00 kg.
The bob rotates about a pivot on end of the rod that is parallel to the ground.
a. Find the total gravitational torque acting on the
bob when it is at an angle of 25.0° below the
horizontal.
b. Use the parallel axis theorem to find the total
moment of inertia of the pendulum bob about the
rotation axis.
c. What is the magnitude and direction of the
angular acceleration the instant it is released.
