Avascular necrosis : death of the bone tissue due to lack of blood supply .

In decompression sickness ,the tissue may decompress the blood vessel which passing blood to particular area most commonly hip bone ( head of the femur ) etc .

Sickle cell disease : here the sickle shaped RBC block the lumen of blood vessel ,so necrosis may occur .

Steroids also cause the avascular necrosis due to fat hyperyrophy , fat embolism occlude the blood vessel lead to necrosis .
