Across the world, many measures are being taken by the government and various agencies to curb the problem of alcoholism. These include high taxes, time restrictions, saying no to sponsorship form alcohol industry, fining liquor consumption in public areas, and, declaring some areas as an alcohol-free or dry region. Another two measures taken to prevent alcoholism are media campaigns and age restrictions. I think these two measures - media campaigns and age restrooms - are more effective in our community area than any other alcohol preventive measures.

Age restriction is a proven cost-effective measure that prevents alcoholism among teenagers and adolescents. In our community, the population of under 18 (minors) is significantly higher. I am of the view that limiting liquor availability from stores to only adults will make it sure only people of legal drinking age can have access to alcoholic drinks. Besides that, research suggests that people who started to drink alcohol in their adolescence time are more likely to develop alcohol dependency or addiction than the people who start to drink after attaining legal the age of 21 years. Many studies have concluded that the policy of limiting youth access to alcohol through MLDA laws and reinforcing this action by making it illegal for underage drivers to have any alcohol in their system appears to have been effective in reducing the proportion of fatal crashes involving drinking drivers. Most importantly, data with public departments indicates that in our community there has been a marked reduction in alcoholism among the young population following the implementation of minimum legal drinking age act.

Mass medication campaigns have been another effective preventative measure against alcoholism. Many studies on the subject have concluded that mass media health campaigns about alcohol are often recalled by individuals, have achieved changes in knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about alcohol. Research suggests that mass campaigns are instrumental in changing the public perception of a health issue. In our community are we have conducted a study about the knowledge, attitude, and practice of alcoholism among our local population. This was followed by a mass campaign on alcoholism using various AV aids and online platforms among the local population. under the guidance of local health care bodies and with the help of subject experts. It has been found in the post-test and analysis, that the mass health education campaign has significantly improved people's knowledge level on alcoholism-related health issues. We have conducted a follow-up study to understand the real impact on practice and was happy to understand that our campaign was very helpful, and a significant number of the population has either quit or limited their liquor consumption as a result of the campaign.
