Answer: Coma is state of mind where there is no consiousncons. This means Patients in coma are unable to respond to their surroundings and environment. Glasgow coma scale helps the doctors to measures the depth of the coma i.e. the level of the consciousness. The scale consists of 15 to 3 where a fully awaken person is ranked on 15 where as 3 ranked for the dead person.

The reason of inclination in the scale ranked could be low blood sugar level, which means lack of glucose that can reach to the brain and thus it lowers the performance of the brain. The second common reason may be due to the lack of oxygen, trauma etc.
