1) In the history of psychological when research started the homosexuality is viewed aspsychological disorder it has been seen in the literature , it is due to the roots in religious, legal and cultural underpinnings, as in the 19th century people started studying homosexuality scientifically , and at that time homosexuality is regarded as a disease which has a great influence on how it was viewed culturallyand many scientist like alfred kinseys research and others reasearched that the gey and lesbians began the social and cultural shift away from viewing geys and lesbians as an abnormal conditions, so by shifting viewpoints in the psychological studies of homosexuality are evident in its placment in the DSM, the disorders in the DSM is GID( gender identity disorder) this was introduced into the DSM -III it first criterion for diagnosis is a strong and persisitent cross gender identification, now this gender identity disorder was removed from the DSM because the activitis have lobbied in the year 2009 meeting of the american psychatric assocaition. 2)The pathologization of gender variant individuals inpsychology was and is due to vaeity of factors, these include existing paradigms of pathology, statistical models of derivant behaviour, financial incentives for the gatekeepers of treament and benevolent concern for distrubed individuals , the disorder is diagnostic label gender identity disorderr and this was used by the DSM untill its reclassification as gender dysphoria in 2013 with the release of the DSM-5, it was recalssified to better align it with medical understanding of the condition and to remove the stigma associated with the term disorder, the gender dysphoria is the presence of the clinically significant distress asociated with the condition.
