This is a strong acid (HCl) vs weak base(H2CO3) titration. Firstly,one of the two protons of H2CO3 is lost forming HCO3- ion which is complementary strong. Then the second proton is going to remove by HCl leading to the formation of (CO3)2- ion. So,there will be two steps in this titration method i.e., EP1 and EP2. The gathered solution,the volume in ml of HCl can be experimentally found and when this is plotted against the pH ,we get the exact alkalinity at which the protons are lost.
