Answer: Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure with an endoscope used to examine a person's inner tract. The endoscope is a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it, which enables doctor to see through it on the screen. Patient undergoing endoscopic studies for reproductive health problems should not eat anything prior to endoscopy. She/ he should be relaxed and consumption of water should be avoided. Not only the food and water, but also no medications should be taken as it may cause hurdle in diagnosis or in the result. Patient should be adviced not to smoke after midnight on the day before the procedure.
