Ans 1: The homeostasis system of our body regulates the balance of our bodies' physiological and physical conditions.

The homeostasis mechanism maintains the fluid balance of the body by regulating the input of fluid and output of fluid with the help of various processes.

The output of fluid is regulated by respiration, perspiration, urination, and defecation. whereas the input of fluid is regulated by eating, drinking and in the case of the foetus by parenteral intake.

Regulation of input:

The fluid input regulation depends on thirst. when the fluid amount is reduced in the body the osmolarity of extracellular fluid is increased that is sensed by osmoreceptors in the supraoptic crest, which triggers thirst.

Regulation of output:

The fluid output is regulated mainly with the help of vasopressin (ADH) and aldosterone

When the body fluid levels have decreased the secretion of ADH and aldosterone is increased this leads to retention of water and sodium ions by in the kidney and helps fluid balance.
