Cohort study:

  • Cohort study is a research design which differentiates a peculiar feature in a group of individuals.It is a observational study.
  • Cohort study is grouped as prospective,retrospective ,case-control nested within a cohort,case-cohort
  • Advantages of cohort study are mutiple features can be measured at same time
  • .Disadvantages include there selection bias, time & money consuming and require large sample size

Randomised trial:

  • Randomised trial is a type of clinical trial used to compare and contrast two or more groups of people
  • It is an experimental study
  • Randomised trial is used as a reliable method for chosing between treatments and between people who is in need of treatment.
  • Randomised clinical trials (RCTs) can be used to evaluate different types of interventions in different populations of participants, in different settings, and for different purposes
  • Advantages include elimination of bias and it provides reliable evidence on the effectiveness of interventions
