Answer #1

1. Ordered dose of nitoprusside 100mg in 250ml of NaCl

Flow rate - 65ml/hour

Weight of the patient - 72kg

250 ml of NaCl has 100mg of nitoprusside

1 ml of solution will have 100/250mg

Then 65ml of solution will have 100/250× 65

= 26mg = 2600000

mcg/kg /min received by patient - 2600000×72× 60

2. Ordered dose of Nei- synephrine is 50mg in 250ml of 5%dextrose

Flow rate - 36ml /hr

250ml of dextrose has 50mg of neo - synephrine

1ml of solution will have 50/250 mg of neo - synephrine

Then 36 ml of solution has 50/250×36 mg

= 7.2mg

mcg /min = 720000×60
