Q. No.3. When heat is added to an object and the temperature changes. The change in temperature depends on the speed of the particles, number of particles(mass of the substance), specific heat of the substance and the temperature at which heat is supplied. Depending in the mass of the substance and temperature, the change in temperature takes place as explained in the below given process.

Q. No.4. The heat change that takes place during absorption is given by ms\Deltat where m mass of the substance, s is specific heat of the substance and \Delta t is change in temperature

a. For water specific heat, s = 1cal/g-Celsius or 4.184 J/g-Celsius

20 calories of heat is added 10 grams water at 10 degree Celsius

     20 = 10*1*(t-10),===> final temperature is 12 degree Celsius

b.

20 calories of heat is added 1 gram water at 10 degree Celsius

     20 = 1*1*(t-10),===> final temperature is 30 degree Celsius

c.

20 calories of heat is added 1 gram water at 50 degree Celsius

     20 = 1*1*(t-50),===> final temperature is 70 degree Celsius
