A 19-year-old field hockey player was running down the field when she was stepped on weight P and felt pain in the outside of her right foot. Her foot did not rotate or invert during the contact. She could continue to run, but the pain was getting worse especially on the outside of her foot. Once she leaves the game, you notice that she has swelling and discoloration over the outermost aspect of the midfoot where her pain is. She also is no longer able to bear weight on the injured foot. She has a previous history of foot pain that has bothered her throughout the season. optic Case studies should include: Assessment of the injury using the HOPS format • Include what questions you would ask in the history • What observations would be pertinent • What body parts and regions would you palpate and why • What special tests should be included

HOPS format includes both subjective and objective information about the incident.

1.Questions can ask:

How the incident occur?

Ask the location of the pain area?

Ask the client to describe the characteristics of pain ?

2.Observations:

Assess the injured area for redness , swelling and for any other abnormalities.

3.Palpation:

Palpation should be perform in the outer part of the foot especially in the posteriorly between the foot and the calf muscle.Because it can be pernoeal tendonitis .It occurs especially for the athelets due to the excess running the tendon gets damage due to more pressure over the area.So the location of the palpation is peroneal tendon.

4.Special Test:

USG, MRI and CT are the significant tests to identify the injury.
