In some cases of a torn ligament, sutures are used to stretch and hold two ends of the ligament together in an attempt to enable healing. Initially the stress in the sutures holding the two ends together is high, but can decrease over time. What type of viscoelastic behavior is this? What type of simple model is used to describe this phenomena? And explain how the model works.
