Diagnosis: Spermatocele Case Study Discussion – Part II: Answer the following and post your response as an additional response to your original Part I thread. Reflecting back on your previous post, how successful were you in identifying the possible diagnosis? What aspects from the case study were the most relevant in order to help confirm this diagnosis? Are there any other tests you would like to order to confirm your diagnosis? Formulate a treatment plan and support your plan of care by incorporating evidence based practice. The success of identifying the diagnosis is by examination, observation, history collections

Some of the information which may be very relevant for diagnosing are

  • A painless cyst or swelling
  • Fullness or heaviness of testis
  • Discomfort
  • If appears like a third testis if pregnancy delayed to his spouce
  • Decreased chance of conception
  • Low sperm count

Some of the test to confirm are

  • Examination by a provider by palpating
  • Transillumination
  • Ultrasound  

Te treatment plan are

  • Most resolves on own with pain killers are sufficient
  • Aspiration with sclerotherapy is the second choice
  • Spermatocelectomy is done when other measures fail

The goal of the treatment are

  • To reduce swelling
  • To relieve discomfort
  • To relieve pain if any
  • To maintain fertility

The follow up are

  • Follow up on 1-3weeks after surgery
  • Ice application to reduce inflammation
  • Taking medication as per order to relieve pain and prevent infection ,swelling
  • Monthly self testis examination
  • Report any discomfort, pain ,bleeding
