Energy of a photon,
E = hc/
where,
h = Planck's constant = 6.626 x 10-34 J.s
c = speed of light in vacuum = 3 x 108 m/s
= wavelength of light = 290 nm = 290 x 10-9 m ( 1 nm = 10-9 m)
Hence the energy of the photon,
E = (6.626 x 10-34 J.s)(3 x 108 m/s)/(290 x 10-9 m)
= 6.85 x 10-19 J
