The topic is employee retention in Gen Y

A questionnaire was issued to 300 Gen Y employees of an organization to determine the effect of work fulfillment along with their job characteristics had an impact on their decision to remain employed with the organization. Of the 300 questionnaires issued there were 153 respondents with 72% indicating work fulfillment played a major role in the decision to stay with the organization.

Research Question - Does work fulfillment along with job characteristics had an impact on employee's decision to remain employed with the organization.

Hypotheses are

Null hypothesis H0: There is no effect of work fulfillment along with their job characteristics on employee's decision to remain employed with the organization.

Research hypothesis Ha: There is effect of work fulfillment along with their job characteristics on employee's decision to remain employed with the organization.

Independent variables is response of the questionnaires as Yes or No for the question - whether work fulfillment played a major role in the decision to stay with the organization.  

Dependent variable is whether the effect of work fulfillment along with their job characteristics had an impact on employee's decision to remain employed with the organization or not.

Levels of measurement for both independent and dependent variable is nominal (categorical variable) with two levels Yes or No.

Sample population is Gen Y employees of an organization.

Sample size is 153 as only 153 responses were received.

Descriptive statistics is the proportion of employees which indicated that work fulfillment played a major role in the decision to stay with the organization. The value of sample proportion is 72%.
