1 Medicine is now less sociologically prominent. The fall in the dominance of medicine is due to Globalization, epidemiological transition and doctor-patient relationship.

2 Patient centred care is providing care that is respectful of and responsive of individual patient preferences needs and values and ensuring that patient values guide all clinical decisions.

3 Despite a sizable and rapidly growing body of literature on person-centred care and the frequent inclusion of the term on health policy and research., there is no standard agreed upon definition. This deficient consensus can be seen in other aspects of patient centred care also apart from its definition such as core elements, best practices and neadures to assess effectiveness.
