On my worksheet these are listed as one problem stating that these build off of each other.

1.) A model rocket is launched straight upward with an initial speed of 54.8 m/s. It accelerates with a constant upward acceleration of 2.07 m/s^2 until its engines stop at an altitude of 153 m. What is the maximum height reached by the rocket? How long after lift off does the rocket reach its maximum height? How long is the rocket in the air? Please explain why you used certain equations. I tried using several but I keep getting the wrong answer.

2.) A ball is thrown upward from the ground with an initial speed of 24.7 m/s; at the same instant, a ball is dropped from a building 15.5 m high. After how long will the balls be at the same height?
