Should a physician who has/had a substance abuse addiction be permitted to retain their license to practice medicine? What the laws or ethics in Connecticut on this subject? Research this topic before answering merely out of emotion or opinion.

They are permitted to retain license depending upon the severity of injury or damage caused to the patient. In Connecticut the physician are subjected for a confidential addiction treatment and suspended for drug addiction until they complete the 90 days of treatment regimen. The Connecticut Medical Examining Board may suspend, terminate ,or not permit renewing ,probation periodmcivil penalty, reprimanded for their actions.In simple they are governed by Connecticut Rukes of professional conduct.
