AaBbCcDd AaBbCcDd AaBbC AaBbCcD Normal 1 No Spac.. Heading 1 Heading 2 Title Subtitle S Paragraph Styles Read and respond to the below article and give your opinion? One of the topics from Chapter 12 that can be used to enhance a speech is clarity. Clarity can definitely lead to a less boring speech. It allows the audience to actively listen to you, without getting uninterested. In addition, it makes them eager to hear more of your speech. It is extremely important to be clear when you are giving a speech because when the audience is listening, they do not have the treat of looking up the definition for an unfamiliar term that you deliver through your speech. Listeners are typically able to hear your speech only once, therefore its crucial that your speech is instantly unambiguous and able to be understood. Clarity is an important skill to possess as a speaker, as you want to ensure that you deliver a message that your listeners can decipher and make sense of. In addition, as a speaker, it should be one of your main goals. Moreover, being coherent and intelligible, involves withholding unnecessary words and allows you to deliver an economical and lucid speech. For example, if youre saying 1 p.m. in the afternoon, the word that would need to be eliminated is in the afternoon because its a wasted word. Another way to make your meanings more articulate is to use specific numbers and words because it constructs a clearer and more thorough visual for the listener. For example, if you want your listeners to visualize a mansion, dont say house because the more detailed you are, the better the image will be in their mind. Furthermore, the use of short, well known terms is better than using ones that are rarely used. Its important to be cautious with the way in which you use idioms because it can cause issues for listeners who are not familiar with your language. Idioms are special to a specific language and the meaning of such expressions cannot be assumed from the independent terms used. An important aspect of idioms is to remember that they add an unofficial, casual style to your speech, which prevents it from sounding like an essay. Lastly, another way to ensure the clarity of your speech is to vary the amounts of ideas you use. The use of many general statements and ideas gathered by deductions from specific cases will not be too indefinite for your listeners to decipher. However, the use of many precise details will have them curious about the entire perspective of the speech
