Its true that a well versed speech does have its significance,especially when it is delivered for a specific cause.I too agree with the fact that idioms does create a sense of interest towards the speech.But too much idioms makes the speech boring and less interesting.Another important factor to remember is to focus on the core aspects of the subject,wandering off from the subject makes the speech less effective.The capability of audience to decipher the meanings of the idioms used should be assessed.
