One major environmental problem is pollution. Give an example of the research you think would need to be completed in order to develop workable solutions for pollution. What else, beyond scientific research, might be needed to develop sustainable solutions?
Ans -
There are many ways that control pollution, some of them are given below!!

Use unleaded gasoline in your cars.
Keep your car properly maintained to keep it in good running condition to avoid smoke emissions.

Instead of using your cars, choose to walk or ride a bicycle whenever possible. With this eco-friendly practice, you will also be healthier and happier by staying fit.

In simple terms and terminologies it is ‘Economic development without depleting our natural resources.’ As responsible global citizens let’s keep reserve for our future generation. Here are five basic things we as global citizens can do to contribute towards sustainable development. You don’t need to be a intellectual scientist for that, just be a responsible citizen.
Educate yourself, Educate People Around You- Ignorance is bliss in some cases, but when it comes to issues of global warming, climate change and sustainable development. I as a student have read all the concepts of sustainable development policies, but it is when we try to practically apply in working models and projects do we come across the loopholes in our basic understanding of the concept and where and how certain theories fail to implement. Educate not just in terms of theory, instill a practical approach. The goals appear simple on paper, but they are radically complex and it requires a lot of understanding in the initial stages to be able to think forward in achieving those goals.
The Right Team Work- How do you expect people to educate in practical terms if the concept doesn’t reach out to them. So here we just don’t need scientists, engineers, geographers, GIS specialists to do research, we need a strong support team that will help this team of researchers to bring out their research to the world. For example, the right publication will help spread the word to the masses, the content documentary would engage people more towards the concept, workshops and interactive sessions would help people involve directly.
Simple Living & High Thinking- Now when you have educated yourself with theories and are ready to contribute towards sustainability, it is time to take a step forward. Buy and use things in moderation, reduce/avoid over-consumption and wastage. Recently a month back I had been to a food packaging event where we packed food packets for people in Haiti. They eat sun-dried biscuits made of clay, oil and water to suppress their hunger pangs during shortage of food. People are starving in one part of the world, while in another part we are throwing away excess food getting soiled and wasted without use. Be considerate, be moderate and Be sensitive.
