mr. meyers arrive in the office 15 minutes early for his yearly physical, which was schedule for 2: 00. dr mendenhall is running late, and mr meyers repeatedly comes to the front desk asking when he will be seen. he becomes increasingly irritated until finally he is taken back to the exam room at 2:45. after apologizing for the delay, the medical assistant takes his vitals and gives him proper instructions for gowning. at 3:20, you find out that mr. meyers has still not been seen, and at 3:30. mr meyers appears in the hall. fully dressed, and begins to storm out the door, screaming at the top of his lungs that he will never come back to this office again!

1)In this situation the reason for mr.meyers delay should be explained properly to him by the office staff.And if it takes time then they should tell mr.meyers personally without making him come to the front desk for so many times.

Mostly the physician should arrive at the scheduled time.And the office staff should have seen if mr.meyers is seen.

In this case it is mostly the office's fault.

2)Yes it happened to me.When I went to my appointment I been said that it may take some time to be seen because the physician didn't arrive so I waited for a hour and then the physician arrived and attended me.But the difference in my case is the staff of the office are polite and explained the reasoning and gave me uptaded,apologized profusely and seen if iam comfortable and have been checked.

3)In my opinion acceptable wait time for patients is 20 minutes to 30 minutes and it may depend on the problems for the delays and vary from person to person.Because some may be in a hurry so it varies from people.
