stroke is a preventable disease in comparing with other disease conditions.it can be preventable by simply controlling hypertension. there are four types of prevention, primordial prevention (prevent the development of risk factors of stroke), primary prevention (prevent the occurrence of stroke), secondary prevention(prevent recurrence of stroke) and tertiary prevention( to prevent disability or to rehabilitate patient).

In primordial prevention patient and family can prevent or delay the development of risk factors of stroke. preventive measures should begin in their young age by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding smoking and other addiction, thus can reduce the risk of developing hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, which will prevent not only stroke but other fatal conditions like myocardial infarction, renal failure, and so on.
