Hey guys, I really can use some helps to write this 5 pages handbook, the problem description is as follows:-

" You work in a large financial sector business. You have been appointed team leader and three new employees are starting work. Part of your role is induction of new employees into the business. The new employees have no experience in the financial services sector and it is your responsibility to explain and provide training to the employees on how to work effectively in the business. You will need to ensure that you cover what it means to be employed in the sector, the responsibilities, obligations and expectations. Develop the printed component of an induction program. It can be in whatever format you think is appropriate but it should be the equivalent of a 5 page handbook. In the introduction explain why it is important that this information be conveyed to the new employee." (Please type up you answer and it needs to be at least 5 pages)

     INDUCTION PROGRAM FOR NEW MEMBERS OF STAFF


This induction programme outlines tools that the management can use to manage an effective “GETTING STARTED” process for new members of staff. The main objective of this induction programme is to assist new members of staff to quickly settle down and be part of the productive team in their respective departments. The focus of the induction programme shall be:
1. Welcoming and Introducting new members of staff to those they shall be working with, main facilities and
the physical spread of the Company.
2. Vision Mission and goals and objects of the company including its history and work culture.
3. Corporate Governance: Board of Directors, Department Heads, Managers and Key administrators.
4. Main policy documents of the Company: Personnel, Procurement,Financial and Service Chapters.
6. Working environment and full motion of procedures, regulations and practices in areas of work.
WHO SHOULD BE INDUCTED?
All new members of staff who join the company to help them learn new “ropes” and settle down quickly so that
they become productive from the outset.
DURATION
The induction programme shall run for one week but it could be shortened by more efficient management of the
process by the HR head.
FOLLOW UP REPORT
After (10) weeks: It is essential to follow-up newly engaged employees to ensure that they have settled down
and to check how well they are doing.If there are problems, it is better to identify this early enough so that
necessary assistance can be provided.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INDUCTION PROGRAMME?
The Head of HR Department shall be responsible for the managemnt of an efficient induction programme.to do this
he/she shall be assisted by the immediate boss (facilitator) of the new member of staff.

The Induction Process

DAY ONE
• Report to head of Department
• Introduction to the immediate boss/facilitator
• Objectives and overview of the induction programme
• Introduction to members of the department in their offices will working.
• Shared tea/lunch with new member
• Break the ice
• Help member fit into team
• Help member meet those he will rely on to be effective and efficient.
• Help new member to open up and offer his insight that could be tapped

DAY TWO
• Vision, Mission and Goals and objects of the Company
• Corporate hierarchy details
• Policy documents:Personnel, Financial
• Physical spread of the company
• Culture, working environment and history
• Customer care: major customers and their expectations
• Code of conduct for the employees
• Working with immediate boss in his office go through entire work process
• Introduce new members to the main values of the company and its working environment
• Reduce “culture shock”
• To see the company as a system where team playing is vital

DAY THREE

• Working with section heads for at least two hours to have a “feel of things''
• To understand work carried out by the departments and the major players

  • What it means to be employed in the sector, the responsibilities, obligations and expectation

• Debriefing session with head of department
• Assignment of duties
• Copy of Service charter
• Understand the role of top offices and officers
• Facilitator/Head of department

Roles and responsibilities of employees :

1. Adhering to the work culture.

2. Maintaining code of conduct and dress code.

3. Being a financial company keep the objectives of the company in mind and be ready to take up responsibilty for tasks performed.

4. Customers should be the foremost priority.

5. Their money is our money and hence be dealt with in an ethical manner, economically , efficiently and effectively to achieve the goals of the company .

6. Customers are the fulcrum of a financial services company, maintaining good relations with them is therefore necessary.

7. Keep in mind that, information of customers are subject to privacy and should not be leaked or misused for your own benefit, else legal action will be taken.

8. We expect you to be a trustworthy employee so that we can go a long way.

9. Appraisals will be given time to time depending on your performance levels and how much goodwill you have developed with the customers.

10. We expect you to study in details the products and services which you will be selling to the customers before hand .

11. being new in this industry, please refer the manual to acquaint yourself with the terms used in the financial market and what they mean and also refer the Guide prepared by the company to work and understand your roles and responsibilities in a better way .
