Answer #1

1.Airway insertion is a procedure which is done to save the life of a patient when there is no proper exchange of gas between the lungs leading to hypoxia and its associated complications. This is also called as Endotracheal insertion or Endotracheal airway or tube insertion. When this tube is introduced into the trachea the first complication arising is the injury in the pathway. It affects the larynx and causes laryngeal inflammation. As a result of this pain and discomfort and difficulty to talk.It can affect the nerves in the vocal cord affecting the speech center .There are high chances for loss of its function during or after removal of the tube leading to paralysis 9f the muscles. As a result of this dysphagia develops making patient difficult to swallow .Risk for aspiration is very high due to loss of reflex and regurgitation from the gastrointestinal system. The rare complications are rupture of the pharynx, pneumomediastinum which are often fatal and can cause mortality.
